Privacy Policy
This policy applies to the brrr website and the brrr apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Your privacy is important to us. brrr is designed to collect and store as little data as possible while still being able to deliver push notifications to your devices.
What brrr stores #
To deliver notifications, brrr stores the following server-side data:
- your device's Apple push token
- a digest derived from each device webhook secret
- a digest derived from your shared user webhook secret
- subscription state needed to determine whether webhook sending is currently allowed
The raw webhook secrets are not stored on the backend. They are generated on-device, and only digests are synced for verification.
brrr stores the total number of notifications sent over time. It does not store notification contents, when notifications were sent, or other notification-specific data on the backend. brrr does not collect location data.
On-device data #
brrr can keep an on-device notification history, including cached images for those notifications. That history stays on your device and is not synced to the backend.
iCloud and CloudKit #
brrr uses CloudKit for authentication and for private user data tied to your iCloud account, including on-device metadata such as device names.
Data in your CloudKit private database is tied to your iCloud account and is not accessible by the brrr backend.
Your consent #
By using the brrr website or apps, you consent to this privacy policy.
